My son is going to be moving back to College Station is right at a month from now.  He is wanting a basic transportation pickup.  Any brand would do but he will need to drive it to work, assuming he can get a job.  Budget is said to be a grand or two.

Anybody got anything that will run for sale?

I surf CL a lot and I always see 2nd gen Dodge pickups for $1,000-2,000.

Wow, that looks like a little more than basic transportation.  Wes is considering...

Or maybe a diesel guy

That last link is a scam Richard. No way in the world it would go for that unless its a down payment.

Eric,  I tried to contact somebody with a CL Cummins in San Antonio but it was too good to be true for the price.  In the meantime I think I have a cheby for him right here in CS that we can drive without having to do much work on.

BTW, there is a one ton cheby at Navasota with a Corrections Office Command Center in an auction that closes Friday.  The truck has 70k miles and the the ambulance body has a cot, a table and a captain's chair.  Only has $500 bid on it as of now.

QuoteThe Truck has been garage kept since I got it new. The mileage is 40395 is the original mileage. Was offered 13,500.00 for Trade in from Truck Dealer. I have taken good care of this truck since I bought it. A landscape person offered to buy it for his business but I didn't sell it cause I didn't want it beat up just for plowing snow & hauling. Had a lot of tire kickers the last two months
looking at it. I have listed below some of the items included with it.

It is a 1987 Dodge Ram W250 Heavy Duty with 1 Ton specs. custom manufactured to my specs. ordered it in June 1986 and got it in Oct. 1986.  It has a 360 with a Four Barrel Carb. with a 35 gallon gas tank. I put an extra two ton helper springs on the rear when I got the truck. It has standard shift with 8 speeds forward with two reverse. It has a seven and half foot snow plow. Plus I have a extra set of wheels load range E. I have a number Three Sticker on the windshield which is a One Ton. I only put 12 miles on in last year. And this year haven't even put a mile on it. I do start it to keep the battery charged and to go get it inspected. Updated information:

This was custom ordered from the factory with my specs. Two ton helper springs. This is a LE Package, PW, PDL, Premium Stereo with extra speakers in back "Factory Installed" LE Custom Interior, Door, Head Liner, Floors all with padding and carpet matching the interior colors. Soft Close Doors. Class Three Window Sticker, License for one ton in Pa. This has the Meyers Snow Plow Package with the Heavy Duty 7.5 Snow Plow, 120 Amp. Alt. with Dual Battery's.

Has 35 gallon gas tank. Has Class three Hitch with two Cole/Hearst Plug ins. Original Paint & 40397 Miles. Garage Kept. Have extra set of Steel Rims with Hubcaps with Mitch. Tires Load Range E 90 Lb. pressure. Has 40 Channel CB Radio installed with Dual Fiberglass Ant. Has 360 Gas Motor with four barrel carb. Had rejetted for better fuel mileage. Without loss of Performance. Auto Lockin Front End. Four Speed Trans. with Hi/Lo/ Neutral if you want to put winch on it. Sliding Rear window. Dee Zee Lighted Running Boards. Custom Mag Wheels with BF Goodrich tires. Has Roll Bar with a light package on top of it. Stainless Steel Vent Shades, Lighted Chrome Bumper Marker Lights. Heavy Duty Mud Flaps with Chrome Weights. Have behind the seat storage unit. For tools, chains, etc.

The reason I don't drive it is medical reason.

Not ENTIRELY certain he's thinking on all 8, either...  :confused2:
