Technical Help / Intake spacers? Jewel, or Junk?
March 15, 2014, 09:33:22 AM
I've read a lot of pro & con, which also varies a lot from engine to engine.

Anyone know whether they work in our MAGNUM RC's ('92 & '93), and whether they produce results, or wishful thinking?

My local Autozone actually HAS one in stock for around $50 - wasn't sure if that would be a fitty well spent is all...

Do you just tape ye old 10mph increment differential chart/post-it note to your dash?

OR...

Do you do the OFFICIAL re-calibration?

And IF so, HOW so?  Anyone ever try one of these?

Anyone use something ELSE?

Now I believe... this is THE performance MOPAR chipset - marketed for the '94-'95 Dakota, that WILL actually fit and work, in our Magnum RC's.

Can anyone here confirm OR deny this?  Thanks!

General Discussion / The Ramcharger needs it's OWN song!
February 13, 2014, 07:27:09 AM
Prince sang about little red Corvettes; some country bumpkin sang about Mercury's; there was some ANCIENT song about "my merry Oldsmobile" about 500 years ago...  but the Ramcharger needs it's OWN song!

Now the Ramcharger is the ESSENCE of AMERICA (and it's southern annex, Mexico... ) - all that is good, mighty, BIG, and POWERFUL about our nation.  It needs a song that reflects that, is a toe-tapper, and sticks with you.

You need an artist of appropriate gravitas to convey that as well.  That leaves out Miley Cyrus, Boy George, and ANYONE who has EVER appeared on "American Idle"...  ::)

MY recommendation (and thus is the purpose of the thread - to suggest your own) is:  John Hiatt.

I've been listening to Hiatt for 27 years now.  If YOU'VE never heard of him, that's OK - his music doesn't "peg" very easily into one genre or another.  Country, rockabilly, folk, blues - he does a little bit of them all, and sometimes all together.  I prefer to call his sound, simply, AMERICAN music; hence the reason, I think he's our man.

Consider, he's ALREADY done a song, for THIS lemon, and it actually sounds REALLY good!!!  :o

In retrospect, he MIGHT'VE been singing about this...  :dontknow:

NONETHELESS, he's ALSO written the quintessential song about Thunderbirds, and he managed to work in a reference to DeSoto's in THAT!!!

So with John Hiatt's bonafides presented for your consideration (Youtube him - he's got some GOOD stuff posted out there!), what sayest thou?  Do you have someone better in mind?  Present it here for consideration!

And for those of an artistic bent, feel free to WRITE our Ramcharger song - lyrics and/or music!  Maybe we could just record it ourselves around a campfire at Ramjam, and become the musical heroes of Dodge in the 21st century!

Belly up, gearheads - it's $64 Question time!

WOULD a set of headers - that fit/came off of a '97 5.2 Magnum Grand Cherokee, bolt up to a '92 5.2 Magnum Ramcharger?

I stopped to peek in on RC progress today, and my mechanic mentioned that he has this set of aftermarket headers that are like-new, that came off a 5.2 Grand Cherokee.  I wanted to check the brain trust, to see if these would FIT my RC, as I can probably snag them for cheap if they do - they're just gathering dust, otherwise!

General Discussion / Got EX? ;-)
December 20, 2013, 07:34:45 AM
Poor guy's wife ran off after 12 years, and took everything BUT her wedding dress.  He finds it in a closet, and asks what she wants done with the $1,000+ dress.  Her reply?

"Whatever the $%^@# you want."

And HILARITY ensues!!!   :laughing7:

Vehicle Help / Fender liners? IN, or OUT?
December 04, 2013, 05:57:42 PM
Mine are currently OUT (front).  Anyone run theirs that way?  IF so;

- Where (terrain, climate)
- Conditions (mud, rock, sand, dirt, snow, water)
- Experience (good, bad, indifferent)
- Issues to watch for (what NOT to get water/mud/rock/snow in - how to PROPERLY clean up AFTERWARDS)

And if you prefer fender liners in, where do you find some aftermarket/repro liners?!?!?  :confused2:
