Title: Hidden Falls in October
Post by: workgoats on September 15, 2012, 06:59:41 AM
:039: (http://:039:)I'm still planning on taking the Willyreplica to Hidden Falls on the weekend of October 20.

I plan on arriving Friday morning and coming home some time on Sunday.

Anyone interested should be planning... :steeringwheel: (http://:steeringwheel:)

I am trying to figure out a plan, but I will be 4wd less  :crybaby2:

depending on body shops, I could be ramcharger less too. We will see how it goes and at least get me there to hang out and have a good time.

Ron, have you got a head count of who is going to Hidden Falls?  From conversations with James and Dave, they are going to the Mopar car show in San Antonio that weekend and won't make it to the fun run.  Talked with Will recently and he's working.  I'm on vacation that weekend but on Friday there's a job fair I'm going to.  Looks like you, Nick?, Ryan and me.  Anyone else?  How about Ernest?

Nick is working.  Ernest is not able to come.  There is still Josh, the one who started this whole thing.  There were supposed to be a couple of guys coming with him, I think.  Brad may show up but he also may be showing his truck in San Antonio.

Anyone else coming?  This will be a great time and I know I won't be able to leave work again until after the first of the year.  We are moving into new digs at work.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I was able to test out the new winch on some self recovery.  Win some lose some but it was all fun.  Ron was also able to test the towing capability of his new rig.  That little booger rocked.  He found a few bugs but he is definately on the right track.

Here's some more pics of the first trail on Saturday.  This one had been recently upgraded to a level 4 but we made in through in one piece.  My rig was the fat boy on this run.  Got a little rock rash on one side but nothing terrible.  Ron just sprinted through these washouts with ease.  Enjoy...

I don't know if anyone else is having problems but I haven't been able to open any videos Ryan.  I downloaded quicktime but it still doesn't play for me.

I could also not get them to work. they seemed too small to be a real video.

I have been busy since we got home but I will post a few videos in the next day or so.  I don't have internet at the house and have not had time to meet the company's tech to see what the problem is so I will have to get them uploaded from work.  I may have a chance to do that later today.

It is easier if I use my computer but I have it here today.

I see you had the same problem I did when I blew them up full size.  Real fuzzy.  Those were cell phone videos.  Did you like how Ryan ended up pushing the rock out of the way and I still hit it.  LOL  That trail seemed to get thinner and thinner the further we went.  When I cleaned all the mud off a couple days ago there was of course the passenger door scratch we knew about and the rear bumper scraped a rock on the pass side and then the rear view mirror bracket was bent on the driver side from pushing against that tree all from that trail.  I remember all along that trail were vehicle parts.  Made me a little nervous but it ended up being a lot of fun.  Wish we had caught the one handed push though - that was funny.

I'd do it again but with a spotter guiding me in those tight spots.  I couldn't see the pass. side and it showed.   :laughing7:  Ryan are you up for it in your new rig??
