8)  Going on vacation August 29th (Wed) through September 4th (Tue) for Labor Day weekend.  Shooting for picking up the motor / trans on Aug 5/6th (Wed / Thu)  since that's the wifey's regular days off.  Should be back in plenty of time for Saturday if it is that weekend.

Ryan, PM sent.

I'm not sure if that was the weekend I was thinking about but I can make it be that weekend.

Unless something really goes wrong, I will be going to Ryan's Saturday.  Then heading by your house and to CC two weeks after that.  (Among other things, these are the days after payday...)

They have been making fun of me and my vehicles on RCC.  Maybe I should buy myself some more goats....

I picked the color for the rig today and will try to upload a pic.  Our internet is having problems so it might not make it.

I don't know if and when the heaters changed but I have one out of a 88 pickup (I think).  It appears to be the same as my 82 RC.  It will probably be about 3 weeks before I head your way.  It looks like I will be going to Ryan's Saturday.

I would like to see a thread about the megasquirt installation and how did you programed it  8)

We started a thread on that. I don't remember how far we went with it. I will see what we have.

Originally we bought a computer to put together.  I assembled it, planning on using input from a hall effect distributer. I still have that computer and hope to put it in the Willyreplica. We bought a second computer that was assembled by them and set up for a signal from the crank position sensor.

After we got crossed wire sorted out the truck started immediately.  It wouldn't idle. I sent a log to my contact at MS and he told us what we had set wrong. We changed that and pretty much nothing else.

Nick is the only one to drive it. I think it has a little bit of preignition knock some where in the RPM curve.

I bought a gasket once. I made a gasket once. I couldn't find my gasket material this time and used silicone.

There was a thread somewhere on RCC about testing a sender. I don't have a computer with me tonight and I don't have the patience to search with this phone.

You should be able to check the sender out of the tank.  I don 't know what the ohms should read but someone will have the info for the correct range on that unit.

If the gas tank is plastic, it should be about 35 gallons.  If it is metal, I don't know.  I suspect you can buy the grommets at NAPA or any other good parts store if they are willing to do a little looking.

The adapter will end up with some transmission fluid in it.  You should be sure to put a gasket or some good gasket maker between the adapter and both the transmission and the transfer.

Price on this is lowered to $2500.

Anybody interested?

Tires, magnum, seats, computer...

General Discussion / A meeting on the trails?
August 01, 2012, 07:57:15 AM
I'm thinking we should begin a little planning on a get-to-gether of some sort.  We would need to come up with a name for our meeting first.  Since a number of us drive or own other Mopar products, what do you think about MOPARTY?  Seems that another group I deal with uses RAM JAM. Chrysler and some music groups use that term as well.

The 203 transfer is really heavy.  But, whatever you do, do not take the 203 apart under the truck.  Take it apart at the adapter to transfer.  Probably 8 bolts.

If you break the the transfer in the middle, about 115 roller bearings fall on the ground.  I have been there and done that.

Vehicle Help / Re: I need ABS help with a Caravan

There is too much history here.  Wife ran brakes for two trips to Houston and back after hearing steel against steel.  Then she tells me about an hour before heading to Ram Jam.  I put pads on it knowing this would happen sooner or even sooner....

When I got to where the van was we decided that my family is nuts. The problem is a warped front rotor. We will bring it home and I will fIx it.

Vehicle Help / I need ABS help with a Caravan

Family took wife's 02 Grand Caravan to Fort Worth. ABS light came on whIle traveling. It vibrates when breaking. I just got here tonight.

Is it possible to simply disable the ABS until we get the van home?

Where did you get the tow dolly?  We had a hard time finding one wide enough here to hold a RC.

We had 33x12.50 tires and 10" wide aluminum wheels on it though.  That might have made some difference.
