Title: 92 D250 Cummins
Post by: ProjectM880 on February 06, 2017, 05:27:51 PM
I finally got a proper tow rig.
1992 D250
6bt
5spd
And 8ton PTO winch!!!
Truck was used on a farm to plant trees.
Noah and I have already removed the gin poles.
I've started pressure washing it and most of the paint went with it...
I guess we will see where this project goes!

thats pretty cool. a 8 ton winch seems pretty overkill but should keep you from ever getting stuck. could make a pretty good tow truck.

Among other things, I will need to spend some time fixing and out fitting the utility box.

Priority one, new front end......
Apparently the ball joints don't want to stay in.

ball joints tend to be important on front ends... at least if you want to control the direction you go.

Back to making Progress.

Last time I worked on the truck Noah and I rebuilt the front suspension and Removed the Gin Pole bed. I replaced the bed with a 1978 Bed.

This time around Noah and I are attempting to get it ready for inspection.

Well I've been driving it around town, Ran into one issue last night when coming home.... The damn headlights turned off! So I will be replacing the switch and the ignition switch because it seems to be getting kinda of warm on the column.
