Following is what I posted on RCC a few minutes ago:
I'm not seeing much interest here so I want to stir some up. Several of us are heading to Hidden Falls on April 26 -28.
I plan on testing out the new stuff on my project and I'm pretty sure several others are wanting to do the same.
We will have a planning session in front of a RJ fire pit and start dishing out duties for Ram Jam that are not yet assigned. If you want to defend yourself, you should be present.
I also plan on leading us on a couple of trails that we haven't been on yet. Last time we did that we found that we could do stuff we had no idea we could do.
Right now it looks like we have 4 truck committed. Let us know if you plan on coming.
Ron
I'm going as long as I'm here..
Hey Will are u going to come out and see what the mistress can do?
I hope she doesn't show up any ram heads..... :happy7: :happy7:

I think Richard has made sure of that already with his 2wd, I am curious how it does with a V8 now.
Im kinda tryin to talk the wife into going... That is a long haul for us, not to mention the $$$ as of now cash is tight, but never know...

Pretty sure my wife is coming, I know 2 of the 3 kids for sure... but I think its going to be the whole fam experience.
:character0029:
Hey Will, did you ever finish getting it street legal?
Hopefully you make it. It just wouldn't be the same without you. :You_Rock_Emoticon:
Richard, yes I did get the beast legal to drive on the highway... I drove it around a couple of weeks, then it got cooler weather & I dropped the insurance on it and parked it. I have 4 golf balls in each tire to kinda balance em, but it bounces all over the road. Really bounces too bad to drive over 60 mph.... so at least its legally in my name lol
So it's safe to say that your tires have got balls. :040:

I'm sure thinking about coming out to the April "testing" session.... Even though I won't be testing anything new....
thats always a good thing... we need at least 1 dependable rig to pull the rest of the testing rigs back in case something goes wrong. :laughing7:
i THINK i may have something to bring.... i know my other projects in my "herd" have me busy but i can make time

Funny... hope we don't have to.... but it would make good blackmail photos. ?.lol
its why I have been driving the 93 to work, its not the smoothest or quietest ride... but I want to put some miles on it so I know it can do ok... its still trying to overheat when sitting still so I have to work on that. Going to try adding one of those e-fans I got. I also need to put a few things back on it.
:hal: Looks like you need to update your signature sir.

That would never happen, we know when NOT to allow photo's.....
We did, however, get a picture of a Dodge hauling Nick's ferd back to the house. It's just part of life.

if, by some strange and horrible accident this did happen, we would wait until we get back to camp, connect a rope to the front of your ferd and then take a pic :evil6:
Checking in on the new forum :great: I will be at Marble Falls for sure :steeringwheel:. My buddy Gary may make it in his new Jeep rubicon. If we dont get a chance to pull any chevys and ferds back to camp there is a good chance we will be pulling a jeep :laughing7:

Glad to see you made it, and glad to hear your coming. Should be a lot of fun. :headbang:
I don't know if Ernest's hitch would pull anything the way it was connected. Unless he was pulling the front bumper with the back bumper. Kinda like your head between your legs. :017:
HA HA!!! I like the jokes :tongue3: :tongue3: I'm hoping to start rebuilding the front axle tomorrow if the weather isnt bad. I'm trying a new locker. hope its a good one and doesn't end up like the last axle... :violent1: :violent1:
What kind of locker are you wanting to go with?
I'm going with a spartan locker. Have heard lots of good things. The company i bought it from has tested it.A friend of mine has a shop where they work on axles and standard transmissions. He said they are good, just don't try to run it in a everyday driver.
I was gonna mention Spartan lockers. They have a good price at Summit right now. I've heard that they are just like PowerTrax. I like mine and you can drive it on the street. Little clunky at times and does the tire chirp on tight turns but a small price to pay for good traction. But then again, all lockers seem to have these issues. I was able to do my PowerTrax myself in the driveway.
Well I made another trip to harbor freight (the place is going to make me go broke :laughing7: )
I have a few door prizes for RJ... unless I end up needing them first, but seeing I bought 2 of almost all of them I don't think that will happen :evil6:
I sent an e-mail to James at Brutal. He will be busy and not able to attend the trip in April. I also contacted Aaron. He said that his trucks all have issues and that he has other projects going on now. However, he will try to make it there to be a passenger.
You know I mentioned to Brad it would be great to see them, but havent heard anything else from him.... hopefully he can get a free pass for a day or two out with the guys....
Yall keep your fingers crossed Brad gets off friday for our ride.. he is tryin to make it out...
The trial runs are over. Lets get things ready for the real deal. Not sure which of the 3 I'll bring. But I will bring something.
If I counted right, we had 12 trucks show up. I think the most we had on the trails at one time was 9 trucks and a 4 wheeler. Some of the trails had surprises, like the rough spot in the video below. This was supposed to be a level 1 trail. I had washed out a little and was compounded by the ground still being wet from an earlier rain.

Ram Jam 2013 will have lots of stuff for everyone. There will be door prizes, competition and organized rides as well as all the un-organized stuff we normally do. We will again have a complete repair shop so that we can keep everyone of the road.
Don't let us ride off into the wild without you.
My RC is ready to go. I am gathering up parts for the Samari. I do look to break parts. So please bring all you brought last time. I will bring a repair manual as well. :violent1: Im hoping to have the Chevy up and going as well. If it breaks...oh well.
Hey Ron I believe i know what took out ur spring hanger. Watch this video very close. It is low on that side and sounds like it had contact.

Where's the video link?? :dontknow:
I talked with Shorty yesterday. He's planning on being there as well with his Suzuki. Said to tell everyone thanks for letting him tag along. :13: I hope to work on the Chevy more today. Not sure if it will be ready or not. But the RC is good to go as is the Zuke.

I didn't realize how much space we took up in the cab. We were shoulder to shoulder.

Who, exactly, crawled under the locked hood and took the battery strap off? Oh, I guess it could have been the resident ferd driver... :035: (http://:035:)
Poor Ernest...he gets blamed again. :hmh:
James Polocheck, his lady Pam,and I met up yesterday for a small planning session. Looks like I will get a gooseneck ball in the Ford and we are going to rent a trailer big enough for the Zuke and his truck. We'll travel up and back together and split the cost. We plan on leaving early Friday am to arrive around 9:00 am. Most likely come back on Monday.
:13:
I still have to find time to swap axles and springs :tard:
Wow Ron never thought I'd read of you breaking anything :laughing7: good to know your still wheelin! Hi btw.

Yeah, but after the Ram Jam 2009 I stayed at Shiloh Ridge for a few hours and managed to bust my transfer case. I used all the JB Weld that I had and a couple of quarts of transmission fluid but I drove it home. Sam gave me a working 208. I just took it out of the red truck before the metal went to the scales.
To the scales?
I may bring a surprise to Ram Jam. Yes, I am working on something. Hope to get it out of the back and to the shop by Monday.
that should be interesting :icon_scratch:

Oh oh .... a Samarai body on an RC frame. REVENGE of RAM-ZUKI !!!
Nothing to do with the Zuke. Although we are getting a locked up rear later this morning. Somewhere I have a new clutch for it. :dontknow:
he wants to be the first on here with a ramburban :laughing4:
I already have a Zuke w/Mopar parts. A Chevrolet w/Mopar parts. Whats next?

Yeah, I have two new projects and there wasn't room for the twice wrecked red truck. I have a 82 RC with a 360 magnum and a Jeep replica with a 318. The red truck just weighed too much and it had been wrecked two times.
Got me a welded up rear end complete today. Now to get it installed.
Ouch... that's gotta hurt.
