Title: rim question...
Post by: taz_man440 on March 09, 2015, 10:25:25 AM
Found some 17" stock dodge 3/4 ton rims cheap.. How is the backspacing fit on the older trucks like ours?? Will it "tuck " or be even with the fenders?? Any ideas??

I'm asking cause its hard to find 16" tires locally... Seems 17's are everywhere...

Thy will more than likely have around 6" backspacing... they will tuck in the fenders pretty nice up front and maybe too much in the rear. 2" wheel spacers would probably get 'em perfect

So for rims to fit our trucks good, we need roughly a 3" backspace?  I have this guy gonna measure for me & I'm gonna go from there...

Thanks Noah..

I believe they will fit fine from what I've seen, but will be tucked in pretty good. I would make sure they don;t hit the spindle on the front axle where you tie rod connects.

Well I don't really want em to tuck...  Would really rather have some 20" but nobody selling cheap 20".  Seems you see a lot of 20" used tires around..Lol

Trust me you don;t want 20's, Thin Sidewalls make for lots of flat tires.

16-17 would be the best for tire quality.

No clue if they are anything like the H2 wheels I picked up, but yeah I had to do 2" spacers on mine all around.

I love the look and the tires that came on them, but it was a pain to get it all done.

Ryan did you ever measure the back spacing on the Stock Hummer H2 Rims?

Im battling options of running dually axles with single wheels and trying to weigh my options other than stock H1 Hummer rims with 7 1/4 Back Spacing.

I have two sets of these 17" they are only 4" back spacing. and honestly I could cut you a deal on the factory set off of my wifes 06 durango.... we got a sett off of a 05 ram for her Durango. I also have the factory rims off my 97 ram but they are 16's that are  painted black. the biggest issue is I live way out in east texas.

I think Will needs 8 lugs rims not 5 lug.

Well I was going to use these on the Ramcharger but since the 36" tires fit & cleared, I went and listed these back up on the local trade sites.  I only gave $75 for these... Sold em for $150 :13: :13: :13: :13:  so now the new winch is half paid for..lol
