finally feel like i am starting to get somewhere with this thing a bit. got all the rusty brake lines replaced and bled. replaced the fuel pump and the main fuel line. i also got the interior cleaned out which made it look way better. things still need to be wiped down and steam cleaned since it has carpet flooring and material seats but it will look and smell way better once that is done. i am hoping to get plates on it tomorrow or Saturday but we will see what happens. still need to replace the wiper motor and windshield washer fluid pump since both seem like they are not working but it is pretty minor for the most part.

i don't think the 20 amp breaker should be limiting it that much. i am pretty sure that is all i got where i am and my welder runs pretty good most of the time. the biggest thing is just making sure the settings are setup just right for what you are welding

thanks. lol i won't be driving this thing in the winter. i might even see about renting an indoor storage unit of some sort to store it in over the winter so i can keep the snow off it and work on it at the same time

well since i think i plan on keeping this thing i figure i should start a thread for it. on sunday i check out this 89 RC and on tuesday i was dragging it home. it needs a good cleaning but is pretty solid for a vehicle around here. so far i have washed it off, replaced some brake lines and got it running fairly reliably but still got a bit more work ahead of me. i still have to replace the fuel pump, windshield, tires, fuel lines and who knows what else. i don't have my plans for it 100% worked out yet but the main goal is to get it back on the road so that i can enjoy it for the rest of the summer.  current setup is 318/727/NP241/3.21 on 33's. only thing that might change is the 33's. i might cheap out for the time being and run the old tires off my 93 ramcharger which will look a bit funny but keeping the cost down until get it to where i feel a bit more comfortable spending good money on it

so far my home made throttle cable has been doing the job good and i have been beating on it quite a bit lately. almost wish i had a LSD so that i would be leaving more than 1 line at a time at the bottom of the street lol.

now that summer is around been driving my truck more and have been having a few more issues. there is something funky going on with the charging system lately. i think it is either a bad voltage regulator or a bad ground. either way it is annoying. it will sometimes charge properly or sometimes run at about 16 or more volts. i even had all 3 of my radio fuses pop yesterday. not sure if it was related or no but it is a pretty good coincident.

also been vehicle shopping lately and i got to say it is hard to find a solid first gen. i was looking at a ramcharger this morning and it was in better shape than mine in some ways but worse in others. it even had a factory bench seat which i personally though was a cool option but not cool enough for me to pay what he was asking. i might have found a decent short bed that looks solid but there is no ownership for it and it needs a bit of work but is a solid truck especially for what he is asking. i am going to try and look into getting an ownership for it or at least find out who legally owns it and see if they would be willing to get me a new ownership for it. my dad is going to get a new car package for it on Monday which should give us the trucks history and tell us who owns it. also while looking at the ramcharger this morning we went and checked out a local auto recycler and i came across some new dodge floor mats for my 81. they don't match the ones in my 93 but for $5 i wasn't going to turn them down they clean up nice. i also got another dodge and ford ones for another $5. i gave the ford one to my dad since i know he needed it plus i figure i owed hims something for dragging him to check a rusted out ramcharger with me.

that is why i like the way my 81 sits. the back end is so high that it probably takes about 3-4000lbs to make it sit level and you would probably break a leaf before getting the back end to squat

that is a pretty cool looking wheel barrel.

it is. i still got quite a bit of work to do to it before i let my niece or nephew ride it but i should be getting it done soon. i had new fuel line show up in the mail today for it.

Now that's just gay. A 4x4 even.... Pffft.
stuff like that is against the law here. you still see it occasionally but the laws around vehicles have changed lately. you are no longer allowed running wheel spaces.

here is my newest little toy. picked it up nearly a month ago. ordered it a new carb from china since the old carb needed to many parts. i am not done fixing it up yet but i have been taking it out for a rip. even with a big guy like me on it it will still get up to 20mph as is and i haven't even adjusted or tune the carb yet.

Do not even mess with flux core unless you like messy welds.
flux core is not that bad. it is definitely different than running solid core wire but once you get use to it it is not that bad.

it looks like a pretty nice welder. it has quite a few good reviews. only thing i would recommend is getting a real welding mask. the ones that come with those are ok but nothing great. i got one of those auto darkening mask and i really like it but some people don't like them that much

i don't think that will happen. for me i see the worst case scenario as the end coming off the cable again and me being stuck without throttle again. i am pretty sure i will come accross my other throttle cable eventually. i have been trying to clean up lately so i am bound to come accross it eventually.

got to love breaking old parts. going to attempt to make my own throttle cable for this thing. the old one finally snapped the other day. lucky for me i was only around the corner from home so i was able to idle it home with a bit of a bump to the idle speed. it looks like the end might have just popped off but the hard to say with how frayed the end was. other than that the cable looks mint. i thought i had another one from when i carbed my 91 but as of right now it is nowhere to be found. i may end up ordering a new cable eventually but it would be nice if the cable i make works. i have been watching video's on youtube on how to add ends to cables and it looks pretty easy to me. i guess we will see. trying to save as much money as i can until i get a new job.

i think he must have forgotten a 0 because that seems too cheap for something so clean especially with a new lift and injection pump
