Fabricator's / Re: Compressor Question
May 18, 2013, 08:26:19 PM
Here is my take on a inline filter for home use, no matter what you need a filter separator for painting, or you paint job will look like crators of the moon and you paint will blister/peel with in 2-4 yrs.  Now as far as air tools, the filter will make you tool last longer, BUT not manditory. Years ago I used to work at several dealerships that had no filter or separator in the system and on some summer days I had a really cool water fountian blowing out my impact gun and air rachet. And even if I oiled the tools it would only last about 3 yrs at a time. Now that I work as the shop mechanic at a body shop, the air is filtered, cooled, and separated, I have no wear, water or any other problems with my tools and its going on year 4. In my opion I would only install a filter if when you drain your compressor tank and more than 2 cups of water comes out of the drain. And always oil your tools before you use them. ATF works in a pinch, but there is inexpensive air tool oil and any hardware store
Hope this helps and good luck

Also I am looking into a custom bulk purchase of rear hatch glass seal that no one can get. The min order is 3 grand for a thousand feet, Have to verify this and it is for the locking seal just like OEM for the non removable tops. And it will take the lock strip just like the OEM. And more to come, I get a big enough interest I will set up a online store

Have you ever put the jeep on a scale, with all that steel its got to weight a lot. Cool project though, been thinking of cutting up my cherokee and doing a complete roll bar body. Saw one on the net and a jeep mag, and your blue looks just like that project, really like it too

I have rebuilt, replace, and custom made harnesses along with a buddy of mine that is a freekin genius when it comes to wiring, on his 67 chevelle he rewired it in all aerospace grade wires ( all white numbered wires ) me I went color coded on my 71 chevelle  ( hey I am a mopar guy the Chevy was free so I couldn't pass it up, traded it for my first RC ) Anyway, I got the wire from Anaheim wire in Anaheim California. They do have a color coding service, they will paint the tracer color any color on any wire you want, the only draw back is that it is spiral painted on not straight, plus they also have connections to some company's that still have the connectors. Also you can contact M&H electrical fabricators   at    www.wiringharness.com     and last on other cars and trucks including my RC's some of the connectors and even fuse block I have found the factory ones are not up to the task of what I wanted then, so I went to the bone yard stripped out connectors, fuse blocks, and pdc from any car or truck I found that had what I need to do my custom build.
Hope this helps and don't forget, DO NOT skimp on wire crimpers, strippers, tape or anything involved in making a splice or connections, you don't want a electrical problem on the trial because you used duct tape instead of electrical tape

Wanted or Trades / Door latchs
October 28, 2012, 11:07:06 AM
I am looking for the door latchs for a 1987 Ramcharger, the plastic linning around the latch needs to be intact ( yea I know, tall order )  and well under $100.00 each, the guy on e-ba_  wants that much and no way am I paying that much, I will weld the doors shut first, and paint a union jack on the doors
Thanks,
