Ok guys. My ramcharger is an 8 lug setup, but it's not a
Dana 60, it's the light duty semi floater. Any body know
what this thing is?? Reason I'm asking is I wanna go
open diff again and would love to find another rear axle to get spider gears from & replace my welded ones.... Any ideas???
It is a 9.25 chrysler. As far as I know all the guts interchange with a standard 5 lug 9.25 of the same vintage.
I have 2 spare dana 60's at Noah's place.
I think both are 4.10 gears.
One is a HD version, the other just a standard version.
I also have a 9.25 HD... but it was in too bad of shape to use, hence why I ended up with 3 Dana 60's.
I can't recall which part was broke.. the spiders might have been ok?

That's awesome... So the only difference is the axles themselves?? I think I have another axle in the pasture, I guess I'll pull the cover and see... So the axle splines count should be the same too I hope...

Was the axles any good in the 9 1/4?? Would ya consider getting rid of the axles & spiders as a backup set for me??
as far as I recall they were in decent shape. Just water had sat in the pumpkin and ruined the gears... a tooth or two were broke.
Its under the 85 parts truck I bought at Noah's. I am sure one of these days we could swap another axle under it... might be an excuse to get the dana 44 rear out of my back yard too.
Pretty sure its not going anywhere as it is right now either. The truck has kind of been a community parts truck. Noah got some stuff off it, Richard did too. I took the front axle, I am not sure if Eric and Lance got anything from it yet or not. But its been good to borrow parts from.
So yeah you can have the parts as spares if we can get the axle swapped out, or just leave it there until the parts are needed.
Maybe one of these days I will have a place of my own to store all my own stuff. I have too much at my city house as it is :evil6:
Well, looks as if only other axle I have is a 10 bolt (8 3/4) so I'm outta luck here... Ryan, what ya want for the spider gears outta the 12 bolt?? Think we could talk Noah into pulling the spiders ( all 4) and ship to me?? I'll cover shipping...

honestly that axle needs to stay complete.... good news I dont want/need it ..... bad news it is still installed in the truck out in the weeds... Someone needs to come spend a day extracting it and reinstalling something else so the truck remains rolling... more good news is that I think the axle was usable just had some rust....
That's cool. I just don't have time off to make a trip & buy an axle to replace the current one... I never thought of eBay. I hate I though... I love Amazon..lol. I found the same thing for same price there + free shipping. Whoo hoo!!! Thanks guys...
Yup 75$ is hard to pass up on new parts. If you ever need parts you know where they are :great:
thats the hard part... figuring out what else to put under it. I don't know if Noah has another 5 lug so it matches the front, but I am sure he does.
Maybe when I get to make another trip out there to work on my wire harness mess I can play with that just so its out if its ever needed.
yup i got a 5 lug for it.... motivation is harder to come by LOL :tard:
motivation is still easier to find than time for me. :laughing7:
My problem is working a 4 on & 2 off schedule. I get time off but have to get kid from school during the weekdays off or on a weekend I'm taking these girls to whatever they have going.... I'm ready for a camping trip....
Ordered Saturday delivered today. Now if the rain will go away I can install this weekend.... I need 85-140 gearoil right???

Regular 80w90 is fine. I like the lucas heavy duty stuff... synthetic is not necessary
Got a break in the rain so I pulled the cover. My welds were starting to come apart. I had just filled in between the teeth. The gears slid out & the new gears slid right in. Cleaned the inside & new fluid.... Like a new truck.
sounds like it did not take you long at all.
I know my miler-locker makes a good bit of noise on dry pavement but I decided a bit ago it no longer needed to be drove around. Something about drive shaft angles and not being able to go over 40 mph helped that decision :tard:
Ryan, time wise (between rain) only took about 30 minutes....
That's not bad at all!!
