Next on the to do list is install new spider gears in the rearend.  The Lincoln locked rear is very annoying...  Makes the truck jump when turning.   Don't wanna bust an axle since parts are hard to come by.   Ordered a new set of spider gears off Amazon. Now just to wait for the rain to let up so I can get under the truck to fix...

shiny parts  :great:

Well, looks as if only other axle I have is a 10 bolt (8 3/4) so I'm outta luck here...  Ryan, what ya want for the spider gears outta the 12 bolt??  Think we could talk Noah into pulling the spiders ( all 4) and ship to me??  I'll cover shipping...

honestly that axle needs to stay complete.... good news I dont want/need it ..... bad news it is still installed in the truck out in the weeds... Someone needs to come spend a day extracting it and reinstalling something else so the truck remains rolling... more good news is that I think the axle was usable just had some rust....

Yeah I have 2-208s and they won't fit from my understanding I will need a 241, my brother told me he has one in pieces and he thinks he has everything needed to build it so I will find out thisweekend

correct... With an overdrive 518 a NP241 is required .... The input on a 208 will not fit due to clearances in the tailhousing of the 518OD.

It is a 9.25 chrysler. As far as I know all the guts interchange with a standard 5 lug 9.25 of the same vintage.

Yeah I did a search on RCC and came up with a guy using those.  They have very good reviews for the most part.  Very pricey though.  There seems to be some in between that use the bulbs instead of the sealed beams.  Low beams on these old boogers are terrible but high beams are ok. Did you see the harness that LMC sells fairly cheap with the relays to run them straight to the battery.  Clean setup as opposed to making one. I guess this bypasses the fusible links if I understand it correctly.

yes the relay harness bypasses the stock wiring. The headlight switch and fusible links are barely adequate when everything is new. By only using the stock headlight switch to turn on the relays you are eliminating a ton of heat and amperage draw through the stock components. Brighter lights and more reliable operation makes it a no brainer.

As far as LED head lamps go ....meh... I prefer the sylvania silver star premium bulbs. they are a bit pricey @ 25-30$ each , but they are much better than the crappy 7$ wagners
