Well I ordered parts for the engine this weekend.

New gaskets and seals, new bolts. New Timing chain set. Already have the new cam. I will "borrow" the radiator from the 91, as it does not need it right now.

If I can get the weather to cooperate just a little I will pull it out of the back yard and get into it soon.

I figure it will be a 2 weekend job just because of having to get the heads rebuilt.

Now to figure out the 4wd issue  :icon_scratch:

Parts are inbound, I have a top end gasket set, and a few other small things. The rest will show up in the next few days.

I was talking to Jungle about getting the front drop hanger that would let me use some cheby springs in the future and give me another 2" lift which I need with the 35's... he had to go show me his new bumper he is making that has the drop hanger/ winch mount/ recover points all mixed into 1 nice looking bumper.

I already have a bumper, and I use a cradle winch... but man its tempting because it looks so dang good  :icon_scratch:

I have not decided yet, I know I should not do it because I don't need to spend the money... but it would look sooo cool  :13:

Been trying to figure if I could get 150 - 200 out of my bumper I have?

Plus it would be another long weekend at Noah's to install... if he allowed. :laughing7:

Jim's bumper is a sweet setup. Your current setup is cool too.  Some of that gator liner or whatever the heck Noah put on his would give it a meaner look than chrome. Still like the tool box idea you had also for the cradle.  More of a classic look. Of course you wouldn't have the stinger but.....???

How was the ride in your RC on the trails.  Too stiff or too soft?  Original springs or the rough country?  I forget which is which with so many builds going on.

yeah that's the hard part, I have a decent setup now.

I have NOS Rod Hall springs up front that gave me about a 2" lift but they are stiff

rear has 6" rough country and they do pretty good

now on the road it feels a little funny, but think that's more the tires :evil6: :headbang:

I asked because you mentioned wanting to add 2" of lift to the front.  I have some add-a-leaf springs Rancho RS50212 for the front that I never used.  I wouldnt add it to a lifted pack though.  I think with your truck, you're on that fine line of breaking from street and going completely offroad. Even more reason to finish the other Ramcharger for street use.  :13:

That is what happens.... at some point you have to decide you want to drive it on the street or the trail.... I have essentially lost hope in driving mine on the street extensively  :017:c

that would be why its sitting in the back yard with expired tags, inspection, and no insurance  :crybaby2:

It would have been nice to have with the bad weather, but then again... the rear locker would prob been interesting on the ice.  :confused2:

Its good as it is, just need to keep tweaking it and making it a better trail truck. someday I will get me another 4x4 for street use, right now I have too many 2wd's for that purpose.

I think you just answered your own question.  Lol
What about the other 4x4 Ramcharger for street use.

What I need to do is take a page from your book. I need "street tires and wheels" and off road tires and wheels.

That would go a long ways towards solving some of the issues. Then get a real locker.

Getting that canyon sport in your signature up and running would solve all your "on road" 4x4 issues  :tongue3:

that goes back to Richard's question... and if I get it restored nice like I want... its not going to see ice and snow lol

It will have too much $$ sunk into it to do that. Guess that just means I need to buy another sometime soon  :evil6:

$$ not a good excuse... I bet it will be less than I have in the Top Hand  :steeringwheel: .... drive it like you have to fix it... i should do that  :headbang:

it's not a great excuse but it's my excuse. It is a good excuse to buy another truck though  :laughing7:

would have been nice for the cummins to be 4x4, but at some point I will sell the 2003 and use that as an excuse to get another 4x4
