So you're one of the guys that knows more than what they teach at school huh? Cool. ;) Yeah when it's at that point, hell with it. Go or blow. :steeringwheel:
Unfortunately I am a this company's only fabricator. It's sad when the Bravos and Hotels are comin to me for advise because all they know is what they was taught at AIT. I think a pre requisite for the jobs now is no common seance.

I really like road trips, the problem is that Murphy is always wanting to tag along with me and we know how he is on those trips :)

If you are good at welding, weld it front and back and blend it with a 180 flap disk. Be sure to disconnect your battery negitive terminal before you weld it though.

how about a "show all unread threads" or a "mark all threads as read" button,

OH yeah I have used "cherry juice" to clean fuel systems, Un-seize motors and a few other things ;D The last thing I did that had the 91B's at work scratching their heads. We had a Hummvee with a toasted trans that had a few more miles to go to get us to the Motor pool. Instead of wait 6 or so hours for a wrecker or someone with a tow bar, I put a pint of diesel in it to swell up what was left of clutches, It got us back ;) Hell it needed rebuilding anyhow and I did not feel like waiting.

might throw a fuel filter in there.

There is also a way to rebuild your injectors replacing the parts that get dirty or wear out. I would have to look for the link.
Yes please, I have never even looked at these injectors. I am sure they need it.

Ok guys! What about carbon build up. I plan on cleaning he tb but what areas are prime to carbon build up?

+1 on the fuel filter , I don't know how much time it has been shitting but check the fuel lines just in case and maybe throw new coolant in the radiator.

Vehicle Help / Vehicle maintance after sitting a while
October 01, 2012, 09:44:40 PM
Ok my RC has been sitting in the states waiting on me to get home. Will be moving from SC to OK on orders to Ft Sill. Was going to do a day of work or so to make it tip top for the new place. It is a 90 RC w150, 360, 518 and 241. I plan on doing the following:
Fresh oils in trans, engine and axles.
TB is going to get cleaned
Check or replace the Belts and hoses.

What other things could I clean or service? Any other things that build up carbon that can be serviced? Refresh my memory ;D

I always just stuck to a 4 1/2 inch grinder or pistol grinder with some 120 grit flap disk. Just dont stay on one area too long ;)

dont know what your hand and time in welding is, but make sure you dont put too much heat in the sheet metal. Just "dot" the trigger and give it a second then "dot" trigger again. Holding the trigger too long on the gun will warp the hell out of the body. Take your time with it. A auto shield is a great thing, I have payed for mine time and time again with all the use in just doing body work for friends.
