Guy if you don't mind me asking what should a decent  rear end rebuild cost? I think that mine may need some work. After about 45 mph there is a definite howl coming from the back of my truck. There is a 4WD center about three miles from my house, but I never have the time to bring her up there. I am just trying to get a number figure to see about a budget so I don't get screwed.

to rebuild its normally 300-600 per axle depending on who does it. You have to get a master rebuild kit that has bearing and seals etc, then labor.

I know if you plan to re-gear a 4wd plan on 1500-2k.

Most of that IS parts - I know, because I just took mine from 3.55 to 4.56.  Don't forget new carriers too, plus some more if you want a locker!
