Oh and this too :laughing4:

28 of bottles? Crazy. Still prefer cans. They don't break when they fall of the work bench when you're really having to "persuade" something.  ;) (nice new ride by the way)

sound like he is trying to find one of the stock type idler pulley's and bracket like what would be used on a non a/c truck. could you possibly just run shorter belts?
what your looking for should look like this

Nope, don't want to run one of those. I've changed over on other rigs (deleted the a/c) just have to find the deeper water pump pulley and shim the alt bracket. (or buy the alt bracket set up from bouchillon)

Now the idea of using the a/c as a onboard compressor is pretty cool.....

Alright fellas, looking for non AC pulleys. Small block. Getting ready to pull the engine out of the 79 to reseal it and am ditching the AC. (it doesn't work and why would I want it in a pop top?)

If anybody has any or finds them please let me know. Thanks.

3)I miss my crew... Should have kept it.... :violent1:

I know where there's one right now I just don't have the room for it. I can't have a yard full of trucks otherwise neighbors might call the city and I don't need that. :'(

Wolfie, damnit, now I have to find out who makes that creeper that way when I put a new garage up with a good floor I can actually use something like that. That would save my back soooo much.

Hey Bob, that's why when we got this place I made it clear, crystal clear, house is yours garage is mine. I even put a shed up in the backyard to put the lawn care stuff in. Why? Because it gets in my way in the garage and doesn't belong there. :laughing7: Sure, every now and then it has to be used for some kind of "house project" but other than occasional, nope, all mine. She contains her stuff to the house and I, well, automotive wise, contain mine to garage. (hey, if I had a big pole barn my reloading stuff would be out there too but since I don't, basement it is.)

General Discussion / New stuff on the 01 ram
February 06, 2014, 08:38:42 PM
So last Friday the wife and I swapped rigs for the day. I needed Grimace (or minivan) to take the dog to the vet. Anywho, we go to dinner that evening. I start the ram and here a exhaust leak, coming from drivers side. Manifold gasket, crap.

So, I discuss with my lovely wife. I rationalize it this way. "Honey, I'm thinking it's the gasket but, I can't be sure. Could be the manifold itself. Now the smart bet would be just to get a set of shorty headers blah blah." She see's the logic in that. So now I'm emboldened. I decide to go for it. "Now, as long as that has to be done this would be a good time to get a new y pipe for it." She eyes me and asks 'Why?" I says "The cat convertor is in it and well, it has been low on performance, kinda sluggish, gas mileage has been lacking......"

She eyeballs me. She knows what I'm up to. Here it comes, shot down in flames... "Well, if you think it NEEDS it......" GREEN LIGHT!

So Tuesday morning I go to jegs and order the y pipe. (cat delete but has the O2 bungs) Then over to summit, pacesetter headers go! They come in Wednesday. Sweet. Then I think "Screw this. It's cold outside and it won't fit in garage. Call the local shop a guy owns that I went to school with."

I call this morning around 8. Ask him when he can get it in. He says bring it down, so I do. They got it done after hours (cuz I need it tomorrow for the wife to drive so I can take dog back to vet again). Don't know what install is gonna cost but I can say this, what ever it costs it's well worth it. That truck hasn't ran that good in a while. Have to actually watch the loud pedal on snow right now. All it wants to do is break them loose. (and I have new skins on it)

Be interesting to see if it helps mpg any. I'm not really counting on it and don't care. It runs great again. When it gets warm I need to do the plate on the bottom of the intake and at that time it will get new cap, rotor, wires. Oh, and 4 hole injectors. Electric fans too. But, best bang for the buck, those pacesetter shorty's and the y pipe from jegs, heck yes.

I haven't priced out the M77 Rugers yet. I know they are pricey. I'd love a Ruger .44 mag carbine (the one that looks like a 10/22 on steroids) but those critters are pricey as well. Cheapest I've seen at the gun shows is around $600. If I ever find one cheap (because they don't know what they have) I'm snagging it.

I'd love to get a lever .44 mag. There's talk in Michigan of changing the rules of hunting with straight wall cartridge rifles in shotgun area for deer hunting. Which makes sense. I can hunt with my .44 mag revolver (which has a 10.5" barrel) but yet you can't use ANYTHING that is rifle form but yet fires the same cartridge. (single shot, lever, bolt action) But yet you can use a inline muzzleloader that has as much if not more range than a straight wall cartridge.

I understand not allowing regular rifles. It has to do with the dense population as compared to up north. M57 is the dividing line in the state.(it's about mid state, east/west two lane state highway) South of 57 is shotgun, handgun and muzzleloader only. North of 57 you can use rifle, shotgun, handgun, muzzleloader....

Hopefully this year I'll have to find me something that fires a straight wall cartridge for deer hunting. That would be awesome. Maybe a Ruger M77 bolt action in .44 mag. :headbang:

So a buddy of mine texted me about a Winchester 94 30-30. Found one for sale for $500. He asked what did I think. I said "that's f'ing high. Better be gold plated." He told me what they usually go for. I said no way. So I look on Winchesters site. Needless to say I had sticker shock. Granted, again, it's msrp but, $1,299.99. I couldn't believe it. Good thing I'm going Thursday to talk to my insurance agent about insurance on my guns. But had I not known I would potentially have screwed myself.

I have a 94. Paid $120 for it,,,,,,,,, back in 1987. That's the beautiful part with guns. They never really lose value. If anything the increase. (not all but some.)

My ex bro in law and I used to go to SODA races here in Michigan when they held them not far from where we lived. Weekend long gig. It was great. But, sadly enough, they quit holding them in the lower peninsula.  :crybaby2: We had it one time though, went back to the pit area and got to talk to Walker Evans for a little bit. When he found out I had my 86 RC there he wanted to go see it. I was more than happy to oblige. He gave it a thumbs up. (this was back in 93 or so, I had only had the truck not even a year and it came from Texas so it was really clean) He's a very nice, genuine person to talk with. You knew he was busy and had lots to do but he seemed to always take time for his fans and didn't just sign something then brush you off. He'd talk as long as there was time. Still have the hat I bought and he signed. (and he had a 91 or so RC there painted in the team colors)

Yeah, Walker and Robby Gordon had a little thing going for a while. (more on Gordons part than Walkers) Robby was way young and would get torqued cuz Walker was older and could still out drive him. (at least that's my view on it) Robby was kind of a schmuck for driving like he did but, off road is a very aggressive race whether it's stadium, short course or desert...

Walker isn't racing desert or anything anymore BUT, he is doing rock crawling. He hasn't given up driving. Just slower and more technical now.  :steeringwheel:

Once dodge dropped the off road racing program I quit watching it on TV. Nobody to root for then.
