just curious, why an inspection??  Can't ya just get a homemade trailer tag??

granted, I have my trailer registered as homemade & farm tag. Cost is 6.30 per year for the tag...   I did have to get an Ag registration # to get farm tags...

General Discussion / Golf anyone?
July 05, 2015, 09:54:14 PM
How many here are into golf?  I have had a set of clubs for 10 years or so & just getting back into it.
Got pulled into a company tournament so I figured I better start re-learning again. So far the tournament has been re-scheduled for early October so I get some time to practice...
So far i have a bad left drift. ( slice?) .. Also picked up another set of clubs so my daughter might learn & maybe want to go to the range with me...  Just no fun by yourself....

This weekend I did some testing. had the propane grill ready as a backup just in case...  Wrapped a pork tenderloin in bacon ( after covering it in seasoning) & smoked it about 2.5 hrs @ 200-225.  turned out really well. Also smoked some pork chops which also turned out good.  now I have the fever for a real smoker. Need to come across some pipe & make my own...lol

At least it goes all the way out the back... Would have been even louder if you dumped it behind the cab...  Gonna have a hunting blind on it too?  might should have put a muffler on it if your gonna hunt from it..LOL

General Discussion / cooking on a smoker???
June 14, 2015, 11:17:25 PM
ok guys,  Saved a small smoker from the scrap heap. Only missing the grill racks. the firebox is very small but I have cut some of my oak firewood to the best size to fit & work.  Now here is my question... is it even worth trying to smoke maybe some fish or steaks on this thing or am I wasting my time?  I have a gas grill that we love cooking steaks, pork chops, ect on but just wanted to try something different.  Was gonna try my luck at smoking some Tilapia on some cedar planks if you guys don't think i'm wasting my time...

I have made a small fire in the smoker just to see what kind of heat it gets.. got it to 250* easily, then played with keeping at 200* just to see if I could.  Had a good amount of smoke to it so guess I was fairly close on operations...

Here is a link to the smoker I picked up.

Will,

I do not take credit for all of your wiring problems but just most...  BUT, I have four 33" Firestone Mud Terrains mounted on 10 or 12" wide Baha Aluminum wheels.  I do not have a truck to put them on.  Are you interested?  I need one 33 X 12.5 tire to go on my trailer if I let you have them because one is on the trailer now.  That's the wheels that were on the red truck and the last set of tires that I bought.

Ron, The wiring was actually a lot easier to deal with than the wiring I had in the 87.  I just traced hot wires for the MSD & then ran new alternator wires. Nothing major.  As for the tires?  I couldn't use them unless they are 16" to put on my 8 lug rims. (3/4 ton's under Ramcharger).
