General Discussion / Ebay, at times, can be sweet
January 20, 2014, 07:07:32 AM
We all know how bidding on stuff can go. At times you win, other times know when to walk away. People get caught up in bidding fever and next thing you know.. This time it worked out.

I was watching a intake manifold for the 79 on fleabay, auction ended Friday. Edelbrock air gap intake. I've ran the performer intakes before and have always been happy but this time I wanted the air gap. Always thought that style of intake was cool and the obvious benefits of keeping the runners away from the heat of the engine.

Short story longer, bidding ended Friday and I got it. The manifold had been installed on a rebuilt engine that had never been installed or fired up. Basically new manifold. With shipping $194. Pretty pumped about this.

Yes-men/lapdogs never work well for me. That's where I get in the most trouble because I have zero issues calling them out,,,,, in front of a crowd. Hey, everybody knows but I'm dumb enough to say it. Oh well. I never lost sleep over it. ;D

What got interesting was when somehow, somebody thought it was a good idea to make me a union steward. Yeeeaaaahhh, that didn't work out like people thought it was going to. Sure, I had no problems standing up to management (especially the automotive supervisor (my boss). Man was it fun to get him fired up,,, which didn't take much) Where it backfired was when one of the guys in the paint shop was told to do something, he didn't want to, comes to me and starts whining about it. (he is a serial whiner) I told him "you're wrong as it gets. Do as your told and shut your f'ing face. Quit being a dbag and putting yourself in these positions". Needless to say I got a call from the state steward over that one. :laughing7: Again, didn't lose sleep over it. Calling it like I saw it.

99.9% of the time I'm a Teddy Bear.  ;D

Same here. A 6' 214 lbs teddy bear. ;)

Yeah Richard, my mouth got me in trouble numerous times in my two careers. (for being honest) Oh well. They never had to guess what I was thinking. I eventually learned this thing called "tact". It helped some....

Just another night in Texas.  (for you other guys... it was about 65 degrees at 10:30PM)

Ron, it's not nice to brag. Didn't your momma ever teach you that?  ;)

Heck, it got up to 37 yesterday. That was warm compared to earlier in the week....

Some of the snow I went through last Monday I thought I was possibly going to need a pull. Draggin' axles and pushin' snow with the front bumper. It was fun. :steeringwheel:

I just like the fact that Moab is part of the proving ground for PowerWagon development.

Now you know, this is the video thread buddy.  So how about a Mud Shark video. Hint hint...

If there was vid ever taken..... Only one or two action pics playing in a field. That was back in 97...
