Alright, trailer reconstructions too. Now you tell me.
I'm sure I can find something at Pick-n-pull or laying on the side of the road.   :laughing7:

Unless it is field fresh we will have nothing to do with it :tard:

Keep at it you will find the magic combination of spring voodoo... The radiator upgrade will likely help. Just make sure you get the fan shroud on

Wanted or Trades / Re: Early Dodge Hemi wanted

The only unknown is the condition of the engine that is not apart. The heads can be repaired but would require being sent somewhere for cast iron welding. The engine I took apart was also locked up but the crank was in fine shape... The block would more than likely clean up with a bore.... Might need sleeves but the bore is stock so there is plenty of meat left . I will send you my number in a PM ... Give me a call

I have 2 330 desoto motors. One 4 barrel one 2 barrel. They both have all the accessories and I think I have the transmission adapter plates and one bellhousing.   One has been disassembled and has cracked heads. One is still complete but is locked up. I might entertain the idea of letting them go to a good home...

When dealing with crank and cam sensors I always replace them as a pair.... as long as the hall effect has the correct plug on it they will fit nearly any chrysler distributor originally equipped with this type of pickup coil. Glad you got it fixed  :great:

you need to pull the top off the carb after you know the float bowls should be full and check to see that the bowls are full.... if the fuel level in the carb is too low it will cause your problem.... maybe sticking float valves ... maybe float level needs adjusting.... you can easily pull the top off the carb with it still on the motor.. just dont lose the tiny clips   :tongue3:

sometimes old carbs are just not worth the trouble if all of the above checks out. I have fought many battles with shitty edelbrock/carter weber style 4 barrels... some of those battles were victorious, others were more an exercise in wasting a lot of time and money.

Picked up some starting fluid. It starts nearly every time.  So I start playing with the timing.  Counter clockwise it can almost start on its own but stalls out in gear when I try to give it gas. Clockwise sounds a lot stronger but will not start on its own.  Played with it so much that I can't find my baseline. Chalk up another depressing day.

unless you are using a timing light you are shooting in the dark sir  :017:

you need to get the timing set .... also you may have the float level a bit low... I would also recommend some sort of insulator between the carb and intake as the heat will tend to boil the fuel after you turn it off (seen it) ...I have had good luck with as little as a 1/2" spacer made of phenolic or plastic

sounds like I may have to come take a look, and do some whispering to Mr Carter  :035:

Vehicle Help / Re: Short tailshaft 727
August 28, 2015, 07:17:13 AM
yes you will likely need a 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing. You will have to take a measurement and call a driveshaft shop to know for sure though

If you need to change the transmission to a slip yoke output the transmission should be rebuilt and modified with the correct tailhousing and output shaft by a reputable transmission repair shop  :great:

His wife wants it gone, I told him he might get $200 across the scales.  He might go that low.  He has close to $500 in it though.

200 delivered to 78666 ... and it needs to run  :035:

Cam or crank sensor...while cranking use scan tool to look at cam/crank sync. Does it have spark when it doesn't start? Do you have injector pulsewidth when not starting? I also find that the pcm is a very suspect item on the late model Chryslers... When it doesn't start wiggle the connectors firmly on the computer... Clean connections at PCm with electronics cleaner.... Do not buy a pcm from the parts stores, if pcm is suspect find a good used one on eBay for same year/model and same transmission/motor. Good luck this kind of problem is hard to track down.... Also swap the asd relay when the problem occurs with the horn relay
