this weather is really making it impossible to do anything. the ice that was covering most of my truck was about 1/4" thick.

everything was just iced over.

i noticed that also. looks like he finally got a good dodge that might last him for a while. i know he has had a bit bad luck with not being able to get his last couple dodges running right.

that looks like a pretty good little compressor. i know it is a pretty good brand name. have you possibly looked at air tool sets? i know my friend gave me a cheap set of coleman air tools and i haven't had anything break yet. mine has impact gun with some impact socket, air ratchet, die grinder, air chisel, couple different air blower things and other bits and pieces for use with the tools.
this is what the kit that was given to me looks like. i think i have used all the tools at one time or another.

thanks. i am just glad it is starting to warm up. that snow really slows work down to the bear essentials. i know i was suppose to change the oil at 215,000km on the ramcharger and now there is about 218,500km on it. the 81 is also due for a oil change very soon. just might have to wait a week or 2 until mother nature decides we have had enough snow and ice up here.

been a long time since i did much upgrading on my 81. since the weather is starting to get a bit warmer i was finally able to put my backup lights on relays and install a couple extra lights under the bed. haven't really got to test them that much since it started raining but even the stock lights appear to be brighter. might have to do up a DIY one day. i think it is almost as important as putting your headlights on relays.

thanks for the head up. found a couple of pictures that would have come in hand a couple weeks ago.

if i was to stop procrastinating i know we could have a could nice headlight relay how to. i know lately i have been putting as much of my electrical on relays as possible. got lots of idea's. just need some money to get it all done.

do you got a spare coolant overflow container off a 91- 81 ram? if not you might need one once you install the electric fans since the magnum ones are mounted on the fan shroud. i don't even under stand why they changed them but the old style should bolt to the rad support. otherwise if the fans you got are like the ones i used in my 81 you should just need some angle iron to bolt it to the rad support.

did you ever replace that heater control valve? the a/c in my ramcharger started working a lot better once i repaired a vacuum leak at my heater control valve. when there is no vacuum the valve stays open but when you turn the a/c on it applies vacuum to the valve to close it and prevent hot water from being pumped through the heater core.

14.3 is not bad. that is what my 93 ramcharger was averaging. i bet if you did lots of highway driving you would get better mileage.
#821
i am guessing those 3.08 gears are how those things are get as good of gas mileage as they do.

+1 on the overdrive transmission. you should be able to pick up 2-4mpg if you do lots of highway driving. i know i have seen as high as 18mpg with my 93 ramcharger. i know for every 1mpg you gain you save at least $5.

glad you got it running good. i think the shift early is also related to how you have the kick down adjusted.

i just figure swapping Distributor Ignition Pickup with a known good sensor could possibly save you some headache of installing the brand new parts and wondering if it is possibly bad out of the box if it doesn't solve your problem. it is also free to swap parts. i am not sure if you will be able to get at all the screws in the side of the distributor without removing it. it is not too hard to remove anyway. just mark the distributor so you can put it back in the exact same spot.
