The Ramcharger needs it's OWN song!

The War Wagon

Prince sang about little red Corvettes; some country bumpkin sang about Mercury's; there was some ANCIENT song about "my merry Oldsmobile" about 500 years ago...  but the Ramcharger needs it's OWN song!

Now the Ramcharger is the ESSENCE of AMERICA (and it's southern annex, Mexico... ) - all that is good, mighty, BIG, and POWERFUL about our nation.  It needs a song that reflects that, is a toe-tapper, and sticks with you.

You need an artist of appropriate gravitas to convey that as well.  That leaves out Miley Cyrus, Boy George, and ANYONE who has EVER appeared on "American Idle"...  ::)

MY recommendation (and thus is the purpose of the thread - to suggest your own) is:  John Hiatt.

I've been listening to Hiatt for 27 years now.  If YOU'VE never heard of him, that's OK - his music doesn't "peg" very easily into one genre or another.  Country, rockabilly, folk, blues - he does a little bit of them all, and sometimes all together.  I prefer to call his sound, simply, AMERICAN music; hence the reason, I think he's our man.

Consider, he's ALREADY done a song, for THIS lemon, and it actually sounds REALLY good!!!  :o

In retrospect, he MIGHT'VE been singing about this...  :dontknow:

NONETHELESS, he's ALSO written the quintessential song about Thunderbirds, and he managed to work in a reference to DeSoto's in THAT!!!

So with John Hiatt's bonafides presented for your consideration (Youtube him - he's got some GOOD stuff posted out there!), what sayest thou?  Do you have someone better in mind?  Present it here for consideration!

And for those of an artistic bent, feel free to WRITE our Ramcharger song - lyrics and/or music!  Maybe we could just record it ourselves around a campfire at Ramjam, and become the musical heroes of Dodge in the 21st century!

I've always been partial to this song being a teenager during the 70's & 80's in the rock scene. Wonder if they would come up with one for us?   :035:

Uhmmmm... no.  You can BOINK a chick in your Ramcharger, but I don't wanna hear no chicks SINGIN' about my Ramcharger.

Hank Williams, Jr. actually comes to mind.  He practically wrote our song as it is, for an episode of The Simpsons!   :great:

Better version of the song, if you'd like to burn a copy and blare it out your RC's CD player (cassette player... 8-track player... Mr. Microphone...)

I used to own a reel to reel and my 73 Javelin came with an 8 track player. I remember buying a cassette converter to play those new fangled cassette tapes. :laughing7:

I STILL own a reel-to-reel (Teac), and I too, ran a Sparkomatic cassette converter in ye olde 8-track for a while.  :tongue3:

I remember hating cassettes. You couldn't skip around like an 8 track.
