sorry to burst your bubble but i don't think you will get much better gas mileage with a 3.9. from what i have read the 3.9 magnum gets about the same gas mileage as the 5.2 when bolted to a auto. also if the plenum gasket leaks the gas mileage could go down hill from the time it starts leaking to the time it is properly fixed.

driving in snow is just like driving is kind of like driving in the rain or off-roading. take your time and go nice and easy and you will usually get were your going.

i just figured everyone always aims for taking time off work for ram jam so that would be a great time. plus i would get to more people that way.

with the way the water pump looked i am guessing you are going to see a lot of nasty crap coming out of that heater core.

thanks. i think if i ever head that way i may try to do it for one of those ram jam events. then i could enjoy some off roading while i'm down there. looks like you guys have lots of fun.

you got snow down there? that must be were all the snow went. all the snow up here has almost melted but it was suppose to come back hopefully not too soon.

did you even flush the heater core when you replaced the water pump and thermostat. if the heater core is as bad as the water pump, thermostat or rad then it is no surprise you are getting no heat. the heater core is probably plugged up good with water pump rust bits.

your truck would not be the only one that hates first. my RC seems to take off in second gear a lot. you never normally notice it unless you stomp on it. i guess that is the price you pay for using a cable instead of mechanical kick down linkage.

I shipped the 2000 Ramcharger from LA to DFW, 1400 or so miles.... $600 bux, and that was going through a broker... but then again I did not cross country borders. But even if you had it just taken to the border then you or someone else drive it across, could work.

Granted if you can get it free on a work trailer, thats even better.
that is pretty cheap but i think it would be a bit more expensive to take a vehicle across the border. i think i would probably have to pay someone to do all the paperwork and stuff that you have to do that i may not know you need to do to.

i don't think the company i work for would be able to get it here for free. i know there would be taxes and fees that i know i may not be able to 100% cover right now.  i think i got to keep saving my pennies and one day i will be able to afford a RC that nice. might have to get a full time job get them pennies quicker.

i think shipping the truck 1500 miles might be a bit of a deal breaker. i think it might be a bit more than i can afford. i know i was even thinking about measuring the trailers at work to see if it would fit. i know we usually ship at least 1 trailer down to Texas each week.

too bad you guys are so far away. i could use 4x4 ram charger that is in better shape than mine. i swear i need to get a passport so i can come down there and pick myself up a nice clean dodge like that. all the hard work has already been done.

that thing looks pretty good and definitely come a long way. to make the thing a good and reliable daily driver/trail rig you may want to check to see if the plenum gasket on the bottom of the intake has been fixed properly. from the factory dodge used a steel plenum pan and it expands and contracts at a different rate than the aluminum intake which eventually causes the gasket to blow. then your engine starts burning oil and clogging the cat. hughes engines has a complete kit to fix it for $120 plus shipping or you could get just the aluminum plenum pan off ebay and buy your whatever gasket brand you would like. some people don't like the gaskets shipped with the hughes kit which is why this is an option. they both work out to be about the same in price. also putting the headlights on relays is a good idea. it allows the lights to be brighter and the headlight switch and dimmer switch seem to be a fairly common weak spot on dodge truck. a bit of money spent on the electrical could save you lots of money down the road plus it could possibly help you see better if you ever drive at night.
