Hey Guys and Gals, I think it's time to schedule another hidden falls meet. Noah and I just got the Death Charger running again and it's time to test it out. We are thinking of doing a meet in the next month or so. So what sounds good to y'all? Let's throw some dates around
I finally got a proper tow rig. 1992 D250 6bt 5spd And 8ton PTO winch!!! Truck was used on a farm to plant trees. Noah and I have already removed the gin poles. I've started pressure washing it and most of the paint went with it... I guess we will see where this project goes!
Some of you might recognize this trailer. Its Sam's old trailer from RCC. Noah and I bought it 5 to years ago. It needed work and after Noah got a few tickets with it on a short trip up the road we parked it in the brush and for got about it. Well Lance has been in need of a trailer for some time. Noah and I said we would give it to him if he wanted to invest in fixing it with new parts. Well needless to say Noah and I got conned into installing the new parts and all the fabrication that goes with it. So here is our progress so far.
In light of my ever growing collection of broken down dodges. Noah suggested I just combine all my old parts to make a ranch truck with a flatbed. Something I've wanted for a while. Nothing special about this build just consolidating my junk to make a semi functional ranch truck.
Starting with a 91 D-350 2wd frame. And using the orginal 360/727/np203 drivtrain out of the 78 Ramcharger. So basically it will run is 4 low lock all the time for 2wd low.
Does anyone know of a source for new weatherstripping/gaskets for the poptop glass? I still have the original but it was cut on while removed. Im tempted to just liquid gasket the old ones back in since its a trail rig.
But if someone knows of a good source or a different buld gasket that will work let me know.
Fall Is quickly approaching and we haven't determined a Location or Time for are annual Fall Meet. Though as a group we are no longer hosting RamJam, I believe we can still do a Event Style Fall Meet with Awards and give away but on a smaller scale. We don;t necessarily have to do competitive events but could do what we did last year with the random awards that seemed to be a hit among the group. Some one needs to be the new owner of the hard luck award after Dave welds some more scrap metal to it!
So what do Ya'll Think? Are you ya'll interested in a big group fall run? And similar awards as last time? We could even do Member donated prizes if we don;t feel the need for dealing with sponsors.
My request on dates are the Following Weekends.... Mainly because they are the only projected weekends I have off do to my schedule.
Oct- 3-5 Oct- 24-26 Oct-31- Nov 2 Nov- 21-23 Nov-28-30
I'm all for doing Hidden Falls again since are familiar with the park and they have improved the camping area quite a bit since last time we were there.
1978 Dodge W200 Power Wagon "The Mean Green Patina Machine"
Well This will be the latest project in the ole stable. Plan to build a tow rig out of it. But will wait to post all of that when we start on it. For now Here it is 318/435/203 Dana 44HD FullTime / Dana 60HD 4.10 Gears.
1978 Ramcharger - I finally got one , thanks to Noah and Troxell Automotive this project will be kicking off. He will be doing the Bulk of the work and I will come in to lend a hand and take the credit
The tub is pretty rusted. By Rusted I mean your foot goes through the floor boards. So We will be doing a Tub Swap. The Plan is- 318 4 Spd NP208 Dana 60 Front 4.10 Dana 60 Rear 4.10
More to come.................... As Noah does more work.......... I mean As I do more work......... I might supervise......... Mainly Drink Beer and Point at stuff
I figured if I started a Build thread on this truck then maybe I would get my but in gear working on it when i get home. Here are the Orginal specs: 1980 W200 318 Four Bbl Np 435 Trans Np 208 T-Case Dana 44F 3.55 Dana 60R 3.55
So far Ive swapped out the front axle for a Dana 60 4.10 gears and a spartan locker. and I have a Dana 60HD 4.10 Gears and Factory locker for the rear I need to install. Ive installed the 6 inch lift in the front and still need to do the rear. My plan changes daily with this rig so I can;t give you a defent plan
As some you know, I aquired a 1980 w200 a little under a year ago. And some how I keep finding reason not to get it going again for a meet. Well a few months ago I started working on it and Got a dana 60 and a 6 inch lift on up front. And the "plan" is to finish the rear when i get home in a week. I have hopes to retire the jeep for awhile and concentrate on w200 enough were it will be reliable and comfortable enough to take on Meets. Then I can finally get back to work on the M880! or do something else with it. I havnt decided. Kind of a big project.
