1978 Ramcharger - I finally got one , thanks to Noah and Troxell Automotive this project will be kicking off. He will be doing the Bulk of the work and I will come in to lend a hand and take the credit  ;D

The tub is pretty rusted. By Rusted I mean your foot goes through the floor boards. So We will be doing a Tub Swap.
The Plan is-
318
4 Spd
NP208
Dana 60 Front 4.10
Dana 60 Rear 4.10

More to come.................... As Noah does more work.......... I mean As I do more work......... I might supervise......... Mainly Drink Beer and Point at stuff  :D

:laughing4:  HEY - that's how I work on MY RC, too!

I'm old, and I have the money to do it.  I'm a WHEELMAN - make it ready to drive, and I'll do the rest!  :steeringwheel:

You too can have your RC build there!!! That is now the Location of Troxell Automotive! The Ramcharger is the first "Official" project to be started there. So Im the first official project customer.

And yes even best friends charge you a hourly rate to build your Ramcharger......... This one is going to cost me.... But it should be bad ass!!

So what are your plans: will it be topless?  Cage or no cage?

My mechanic does that. Man, if he didn't drink beer and just get after it.... Wait, that's me. Never mind. Good thing the owner is patient.  ;D Kinda hard to be mad at myself for work not getting done and drinkin' beer.

Man, it looked like the tub you started with was solid. Guess that was just the outside huh? At least you came up with a good one to throw on there. Can't beat that. In the long run that money spent on another tub actually saves money. Had to explain that to my wife but once the light bulb came on she totally understood.

I would like to Run a full cage on it, but until then im looking for a factory roll bar. Because I won;t run it topless until i have one. So I will run it with the top until I can find a roll bar or build a cage.

Want the 383 to go in it?
Nope, I have a decent 318 4 spd combination to go into it. I will probably save up and hopefully one day in the long future put a 4bt in it if the rc turns out nice.

The orginal tub was rotted. Flintstone floor pans , rotted rockers, rotted fenders, rotted top. The other body ended up having some shady crappy fiberglass work done to it so we ended up buying patch panels. But over all the other black tub was in better condition. But still not without needing repairs. This wont be a show truck or beauty queen by any means. Just a trail beater and occtioanl street pounder.

When i get back I will take some progress pictures and keep yall updated. If it ever warms up enough rust converter and paint will be applied. It will be painted Military Tan CARC.

Way to go. I have taken the 91 off the road and its now just a trail rig. Need to up grade axels. I have the truck in the back forty to get finished (89) big block truck, and the Chabby and the Zuke. Anyone need a project? I have too many. Not to mention my trailers......

SixGun

Skip, I may need a trailer down the road a bit.

BTW wasn't there a funny story about Sam's trailer sometime back?
