that makes me never want to take apart my engine unless i blow it up. never know what you might find. at least i know i am driving a vehicle with a solid engine :laughing7:.

so do you think the heads will be cracked?

rjtx667

Both heads were cracked... 1 had 1 crack, the other had 2 cracks.

They got backed up and did not get it all done, so should be ready monday.

I have been working to clean parts up and prep to get stuff back together.

I don't know how I lived before... I bought a parts washers and wow  life is SOOOOOO much better lol

It cleaned lots of the parts easily and quickly.

I also bought some new attachments for my air cutoff tool to help finish cleaning up gasket surfaces.

I recall the hours I have spent before cleaning up surfaces, and I have to say jobs are so much better when you have the right tools

So all the parts are now clean for starting to put it back together. I need to clean up the surfaces on the block then get started.

I also need to learn how to degree a cam lol

I have all the tools, just never done it so it shall be interesting.

I had wanted to get it all done and going this weekend, but other stuff (as always) came up and kept me busy but I still got some done.

Man this has been harder than it needs to be lol.

Could not get the intermediate shaft out for the dizzy. ended up having to take the passenger head back off so I had room to pry it out.

It had a bunch of caked on junk. Parts washer make quick work of it though.  :13:

So now both heads are on, cam in, timing chain and cover on, all that good stuff.

Intake is ready to go in expect 1 small issue. I am trying to delete the EGR and I have not found a plug that fits the hole yet. Found a kit online but its 40 bux and who knows when it would get here. I might just run to a junk yard and try to pull one real quick. If they don't charge too much for it.

After the intake is back on it should go pretty good. But re-doing the exhaust will be a PITA... its always a PITA dealing with headers lol.

Hoping to figure something out to get the intake back on tonight. If I can get the intake on I should be able to get it buttoned up ready ton start minus the headers.

Then its just doing the fuel sync. Hope my old snap on tool is still up for the challenge.

I just bought a new intake without egr, mine was missing the threads and extremely wallowed out, plus the aluminum intake is like 40 lbs lighter and makes more low end power.

rjtx667

The magnums all have the "beer keg" aluminum intake already. I just grabbed one that was from 96 and newer and no egr. It was also missing a port for a water temp sensor, but I should be able to work around that.

I have the timing set, set the distributor, spark plugs and wires in and valve covers on.

Intake is clean and on. I finished cleaning the throttle body last night but I need to put to all back together. I installed the new injectors, reconnected most of the wires.

I have to finish re-attaching the accessory bracket, put the accessories on, some heater and radiator hoses, the radiator harmonic balancer and the headers.

It really slowed down on me at the end of this project, lots of little gotcha's but its coming together.

The mexico ramcharger will tow the 93, the 93 is long past what I would consider sane for a drive of that length to go off roading  :laughing7:

And the way we start playing out there.. if you play hard, you don't want to have to drive your truck back lol... but there are some like Richard that do.

And while you will get to see a mexico ramcharger, you cannot by any stretch of the imagination call it a typical mexico ramcharger. I have high customized and modified this one to my likings.  :13:  If there is time maybe we can do a ride. Most of the guys have seen and heard it (you can hear it quite a ways away), but not many have rode or drove it. When they do... its always fun to see their faces. Just imagine a 5300 lb truck doing 0-60 in 6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 14.2 ish. Then you can guess why  :evil6:
